On April 1st, BSBM Changsha Base successfully topped off the second phase project of BASF Shanshan Battery Materials Co., Ltd

BSBM Battery Materials Co., Ltd. (BASF Shanshan) is a joint venture established by BASF and Shanshan in 2021 (BASF holds 51%, Shanshan holds 49%). The company was first founded by Shanshan Co., Ltd. in 2003 and is currently a leading enterprise in the positive electrode material industry in China. The main products of lithium cobalt oxide and ternary battery materials are at the forefront of the industry. BASF Shanshan has production bases in Changsha, Ningxiang, Hunan, and Shizuishan, Ningxia. By 2022, the total annual production capacity will reach 90000 tons. Relying on continuous technological innovation and independent research and development, BASF Shanshan has established a leading technology research and development center at the Changsha base in Hunan, with nearly 300 experts and researchers dedicated to product research and development, analysis, and testing.

As an automated and intelligent sustainable development benchmark factory in BSBM's optimized layout of Changsha High tech Zone, this expansion project has achieved advanced levels in terms of production line equipment process layout, process environmental control, and process foreign object prevention and control, meeting international high-end customer certification requirements. It is reported that the BSBM Changsha Base Phase II project is the first time the company has adopted the EPC engineering general contracting mode.
